2014 SAG Awards: Best Dressed

The 2014 SAG Awards red carpet was packed with everything from subtle ballet slipper pink frocks to outrageous, multi colored gowns. There were definitely some fashion hits and misses at the Shrine Auditorium last evening. Among the best dressed stars on the carpet were awards show veterans Sofia Vergara and Camila Alves - both clad in Donna Karen. In fact, Donna Karen was the designer to watch last night: The brand dressed two out of the four starlets on our best dressed list.

Another noteworthy label this awards season is Gucci: The brand dressed two of the best dressed stars on the Golden Globes red carpet. The fashion house continued it's winning streak last night, dressing fashionista-on-the-rise, Lupita Nyong'o. The starlet looked stunning in blue. The color popped against her skin tone and her makeup accented the gorgeous frock perfectly. It can be argued that blue was the color of the evening, as the carpet was packed with the cool hue. Other colors that were ubiquitous last night were pink and purple. Amy Adams also rocked the color of the evening in a sexy Antonio Berardi creation, complete with thigh-high slit.

Overall, the SAG Awards red carpet was much more laid back than the Golden Globes red carpet was last week. Big-screen siren Julia Roberts rocked a jumpsuit in lieu of a dress. A very pregnant Kerry Washington even wore a custom Prada ensemble, complete with a crop top that displayed her growing baby bump. While the SAG Awards red carpet is one of the more laid back red carpets of awards season, it is by no means a casual affair. It would've been nice to see more glamour on the carpet. With the notoriously outrageous, fashion-packed Grammy Awards red carpet right around the corner, it seems like we are more likely to see fashion risks on the carpet before traditional Hollywood glamour.
