The Rochester Red Wings, the Triple-A International League affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, play their home games at Frontier Field in Rochester, less than 90 minutes from the Buffalo area. Here’s a look at some of the key match-ups this season for the Red Wings – find their complete 2014 schedule and purchase tickets to these games and others at redwingsbaseball.com.
Season-opening series - the Red Wings head to Buffalo to face the Bisons on Thursday and Friday, April 3rd and 4th (both games 2:05 p.m.), then turn around and host the Herd on Saturday and Sunday, April 5th and 6th (Saturday – 2:05 p.m., Sunday – 1:05 p.m.).
More Bisons match-ups – the Red Wings return to Buffalo June 20th through 23rd and August 19th and 20th, and host the Bisons again July 6th through 9th and August 29th and 30th.
Syracuse Chiefs – the third team involved in the Thruway Cup, the Syracuse Chiefs, host the Red Wings April 18th through 21st, August 21st and 22nd and August 27th and 28th. The Chiefs visit Rochester May 26th through 29th and August 15th through 18th.
Yankees and BoSox fans – the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, farm team for the New York Yankees, visit Rochester April 7th through 9th, July 12th and 13th and August 23rd through 25th; the Red Wings head to Pennsylvania for games against the RailRiders May 22nd through 25th, June 24th and 25th and July 10th and 11th. The Pawtucket Red Sox, farm team of the Boston Red Sox, goes to Rochester April 14th through 17th and June 16th through 19th; Pawtucket hosts Rochester April 22nd through 25th, July 2nd and 3rd and August 31st and September 1st.
