Instead of rankings like the weekly ones I will post here during the season, I wanted to create a tier system for draft purposes. The tier system shows you which guys are comparable to others. The most asked question during draft season is "Which position should I draft first?" There is no answer to that. Drafts are about getting the best players at the best value. So grouping players by tier can keep you from reaching at a certain position, assuming there are more players at that position in the tier you are looking at.

Here are the initial quarterback tier rankings.

ELITE QB1- (Rounds 1-3)

Peyton Manning- Denver

Drew Brees- New Orleans

Aaron Rodgers- Green Bay

NEAR ELITE QB1- (Rounds 4-7)

Matt Stafford- Detroit

Matt Ryan- Atlanta

Andrew Luck- Indianapolis

Nick Foles- Philadelphia

Tom Brady- New England

Tony Romo- Dallas

LOW END QB1- (Rounds 8-10)

Jay Cutler- Chicago

Colin Kaepernick- San Francisco

Philip Rivers- San Diego

Robert Griffin III- Washington

Cam Newton- Carolina

HIGH END QB2- (Rounds 11-13)

Ben Roethlisberger- Pittsburgh

Andy Dalton- Cincinnati

Russell Wilson- Seattle

Carson Palmer- Arizona
