Falcon Ridge Golf Course general manager Steve Spratt has decided to ring in the outdoor season with an Ottawa-Gatineau GolfExpo special.
“Twosomes are welcome to play 18 holes during any day of the week for $99, and that price includes a power cart and covers the taxes,” said Spratt. “Players will be able to purchase the passes at the GolfExpo or on our website through to when the show ends at the Ernst and Young Centre on March 9. The rounds can be played until June.”
Preparations for 2014 will also be happening on April 14 when the Monday evening men’s league holds a meeting at the course to go over how the league will be run. Former and new golfers are invited to attend.
The Tuesday morning women’s league that plays Raceview, Falcon Ridge’s nine-hole executive sister track, returns and so does the Tuesday senior circuit for men and women on the main course.
Spratt says that memberships this year feature a practice range bonus of paying only $2 per bucket of balls.
Intermediate golfers, those ages 18 to 30, can tee off on weekends after 2 p.m. for the price of their age on the day they play. Proper ID is required.
The extensive practice area at Falcon Ridge is open to everyone and features a chipping green, putting green, huge driving range and an instruction area operated by the PGA of Canada professionals from the Ottawa Athletic Club.
Falcon Ridge’s award-winning clubhouse includes a large pro shop, the superb Out of Bounds restaurant and two large banquet rooms. Food specials include Fajita Sundays starting at 4 p.m. and on Fridays the chef cooks up dinner offerings that regularly involve steak dishes.
The championship layout at the semi-private course plays to par 72. There are four sets of tee boxes measuring from 5,383 yards to 6,945 yards.
Raceview, an executive layout, plays to par 35 and has two sets of tee boxes measuring from 2,158 yards to 2,563 yards.
Falcon Ridge is located off Albion Road at 4740 High Rd., across from Rideau-Carleton Track and Slots.
