NHRA Funny Car driver Alexis DeJoria took the No. 1 spot on the ladder Saturday during final qualifying for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway. Doug Kalitta (Top Fuel), Erica Enders-Stevens (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also took No. 1s in their respective categories.
DeJoria earned the No. 1 spot with a fast pass of 4.012 seconds at 313.95 mph; she’ll face Tony Pedregon in the first round of eliminations on Sunday. Her Kalitta Motorsports teammate Del Worsham sits No. 2, followed by Robert Hight, Matt Hagan and Tommy Johnson Jr.
Kalitta faces Chris Karamesines in the first round after his pass of 3.732 seconds at 328.86 mph. Bob Vandergriff Jr., Antron Brown, Steve Torrence and Tony Schumacher round out the top five in Top Fuel.
Enders-Stevens took her Pro Stock No. 1 spot with a pass of 6.493 seconds at 212.69 mph; her opponent in the first round is John Graydosh Jr. Dave Connolly sits in the No. 2 spot, followed by Shane Gray, Jason Line and Rodger Brogdon.
Krawiec meets Jerry Savoie in the first round Sunday after a pass of 6.796 seconds at 196.62 mph. His Harley teammate Andrew Hines starts No. 2, while John Hall starts No. 3. Jim Underdahl and Michael Ray round out the top five in PSM.
