The 2014 NHL playoffs live stream and TV coverage continues Thursday with three games on the schedule, including Game 4 between the Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins. Wings goalie Jimmy Howard has played well enough to win two of the first three games, but in order to win you must outscore your opponents. The Red Wings are averaging less than 1 goal per game in the first three games - and that's not going to get it done vs. a tough team like Boston. The Game 4 Wings vs. Bruins NHL playoff live stream action will tip the scale of this series one way or another tonight.

According to a Sportsline report on April 24, the lack of offense for Detroit has the Red Wings off to their worst three-game start in any playoff series since the 1945 Stanley Cup finals. Ouch! That's the bad news for Wings fans. The good news is no matter how bad they have been playing, goalie Jimmy Howard has been keeping them in the game.

If the Wings can pull off the win tonight the series will be tied 2-2, and you never know what can happen from there. However for the Wings to do so they will have to solve the Bruins tough defense, something they haven't done in the first three games of this opening round best-of-seven series.

Detroit has yet to score first in this series, except for the 1-0 win in Game 1, and that goal came with just a few minutes left in the game. To get back in this series Detroit needs a few early goals to get the hyped up crowd at Joe Louis Arena into the action.

Las Vegas odds makers have the Bruins as the favorite in tonight's game at -135 with the over/under number set at 5. Fans can catch all of the Game 4 action between the Wings and Bruins nationally on NBC Sports Network, locally in Detroit on Fox Sports Detroit and streaming live online through NBC Sports Extra. The puck is scheduled to drop at 8 p.m. ET.
