The 2014 NHL playoffs live stream and TV coverage continues Wednesday with three games on the schedule, including a key Game 4 between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets. This first round best-of-seven series has built up a theme - first team to score four goals wins! All three games have finished by the same final score of 4-3 with the Penguins winning Games 1 and 3 and the Blue Jackets winning Game 2. With that pattern in mind, tonight must be Columbus' turn to win this important Game 4 NHL live stream playoff game.
According to an ESPN report on April 23, as amazing as the scoring has been coming at a high pace, Pittsburgh's all-stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have yet to score a goal. What's even more bizarre is that in all three games, the losing team, yes the losing team, has held a 3-1 lead in every game before surrendering three straight goals and ending up on the short side of the scoreboard.
Pittsburgh head coach, and native Michigander Dan Bylsma believes the best way for his stars to start scoring is by crashing the net more and pursuing rebounds at a much more aggressive pace. That may be easier said than done in this series. While the No. 2 seeded Penguins are playing good right now, so are the heavy underdog Blue Jackets. Bylsma knows nothing is going to come easy in this series.
"I don't think we can expect it to be an easy goal," he said. "It's going to be dirty and ugly and that's where we've got to get them from. That's regardless whether it's Brandon Sutter scoring at the net or getting goals from Crosby at the net."
Las Vegas odds makers have Pittsburgh listed as the favorite for tonight's Game 4 at -155. The over/under total on the game is set at 5.5. The Penguins can take a commanding 3-1 series lead with a win tonight at Columbus, but the Blue Jackets won't roll over easy!
Fans can catch this game on NBC Sports Network nationally and streaming live online though NBC Sports Extra starting at 7 p.m. ET. Who is your pick to win Game 4?
