The 2014 NHL playoffs live stream and TV coverage continues Monday with three games on the schedule, including Game 6 between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets. This series has been a battle of many ups and downs for both clubs. If the pattern continues, Columbus will win tonight and force the inevitable Game 7 back in Pittsburgh. This Game 6 NHL live stream action will be must see action for NHL fans.
According to a Sportsline update on April 28, these two teams have alternated wins in every game so far in this first round best-of-seven series and if Columbus wants to extend their season one more game they will have to keep that trend alive. Pittsburgh has won the odd number games, while the Blue Jackets claimed victories in games 2 and 4.
Las Vegas odds makers had the Penguins as a big favorite to knock off Columbus and win this series, but the Blue Jackets have played Pittsburgh tough every game. These team are so evenly matched that the first four games of this series ended with the same final score of 4-3. Game 5 was the only game that finished with a different final score when the Pens defeated Columbus 3-1.
Pittsburgh's Chris Kunitz scored a power-play goal and Kris Letang added an empty net goal with one minute left in regulation for the Penguins. The final score of 3-1 doesn't indicate how close the game actually was. Columbus goalie Sergei Bobrovsky once again did his best by stopping 48 of 50 shots, but it just wasn't good enough in the end. It doesn't help that the Blue Jackets were out shot by a 2-1 margin in a couple games, including Game 5, however all the Jackets want now is a Game 6 win at home and force a winner take Game 7 opportunity.
Las Vegas odds makers have Pittsburgh as a slight favorite in tonight's Game 6 at -135, with the over under number total at 5.5. Win or lose, the Columbus crowd is going to be ready for this game! Fans can catch this game on NBC Sports Network nationally and streaming live on NBC Sports Extra starting at 7 p.m. ET.
