The 2014 NHL playoff live stream and TV coverage for the NHL Eastern Conference finals continues Thursday night when the Montreal Canadiens once again will try to fight off elimination against the New York Rangers as these two get ready to battle from Madison Square Garden. The Blackhawks fought off elimination yesterday vs. the LA Kings in overtime, can Montreal do the same in tonight's NHL live streaming action?

According to a Sportsline update on May 29, Montreal kept their season alive after thrashing New York in Game 5 by the final score of 7-4. Now the Habs and their fans are hoping they can force a winner take all Game 7 this Saturday night in Montreal. Who knows, maybe Montreal has New York right where they want them.

The Rangers have played the full seven games in each of the first two rounds of this year's playoffs, and may be on the same path here in the Eastern Conference Finals. If the Canadiens win tonight's Game 6, history will be on their side in Game 7. No team in NHL history that has played a pair of seven-game series before the conference finals has gone on to make it to the Stanley Cup finals.

Rangers forward Brad Richards knows how big tonight's Game 6 is, and New York doesn't want to blow this opportunity to take care of business at home. If Montreal can force a Game 7, anything can happen!

''It's an opportunity to win the game to go to the Stanley Cup final,'' Rangers forward Brad Richards said. ''I think everybody is alert and ready that way. We were talking about it all (Tuesday) how excited we were to get on the ice and start playing. ''It's a desperate time,'' Richards said. ''You don't want to go back to a Game 7 where anything can happen. We want to get this done. They're a good team anywhere.

New York knows what the Canadiens are thinking. After all the Rangers trailed Pittsburgh 3-1 in the last round before winning an improbable Game 5 and going on to win the series 4-3. As happy as the Rangers fans were when that happened, they don't want to see that happen to their team!

Las Vegas odd makers have New York as the favorite in tonight's Game 6 at -175 with the over/under number set at 5. Fans can catch all of the action on NBC Sports Network and streaming live online through NBC live extra starting at 8 p.m. ET.
