It may be hard to believe, but the NFL is back! According to a CBS Sports report on Sept. 4 the Green Bay Packers will take on the defending World Champion Seattle Seahawks tonight as the 2014 season officially gets underway. From fantasy football, to Vegas sports books all the way to fans who only love to watch the Super Bowl, the machine that is the NFL is ready to crank up another season.
One of the great things about opening week in the NFL is the Monday Night Football double-header. This year all four teams playing on Monday Night in Week 1 are predicted to do well by most experts.
Game 1 will feature Eli Manning and the NY Giants taking on Matt Stafford and the Detroit Lions from Ford Field. Of course it is only Week 1, but many experts are saying that the Lions have one of the best offenses in the game. The addition of Golden Tate to go along with Calvin Johnson, Joseph Fauria and Brandon Pettigrew should have defenses scrambling.
Game 2 of the MNF twin-bill will see the San Diego Chargers head out to the desert to face the Arizona Cardinals. Both of these teams have plenty of talent to make some noise in 2014, but the real question is can they hold up down the stretch.
Now, on to the picks. The last two season have been great, however this year is going to be even better! The bad news is our 5 game Super Bowl winning streak was snapped last February when Denver let us down, but this is a new season and all that matter is right now.
