The 2014 Frozen Four live stream and TV coverage for the Men's NCAA hockey championship game is set to take place Saturday night from Philadelphia. Tonight’s winner take all game will feature the Minnesota Golden Gophers taking on the Union Dutchmen, both of which advanced to the championship after winning their semifinal match-ups on Thursday. This game is shaping up to be one of the best NCAA hockey live stream championships in recent memory.
According to SI.com on April 11, Union defeated the red hot Boston College Eagles 5-4 in their semifinal game Thursday in dramatic fashion. The Dutchmen were in complete control in the third period until BC put on tremendous pressure in the final 3 minute of the game.
The Eagles scored twice in the last 1:45 of the contest, but the Dutchmen held on in the end to advance to the finals.
Union will face Minnesota in tonight's title game. The Gophers also won their semifinal match up in dramatic fashion.
Minnesota's Justin Holl scored with less than one second to play in the third period to give Golden Gophers a 2-1 victory against North Dakota and a spot in the championship game. After two and a half periods of no scoring, all three goals were scored in the final ten minutes of action, none bigger than the goal by Holl.
Las Vegas odds makers have this game posted at even, (-110 for both sides) with the over/under number set at 5.5. The way these two teams have been playing, don't be surprised if we see an overtime period or two.
College hockey fans can catch all of the action on ESPN nationally and streaming live online through WatchESPN beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST.
