The 2014 NBA Playoffs schedule is finally set. It took all 82 games to decide the official positioning of the seeds in each conference and now it’s time for the real season, the playoffs! According to Bleacher Report on April 17, the final seed positions were set late Wednesday night as the NBA finished its regular season schedule.

The two number one seeds are the Eastern conference's Indiana Pacers and the San Antonio Spurs out of the West. The defending champion Miami Heat may be the second seed in the East, but they are still the Vegas odds makers favorites to win the NBA title for the third straight season. Miami is +200, or 2/1 to three-peat as NBA champs, but it won't be easy.

This year's talent runs deep, especially out of the Western Conference. The OKC Thunder, LA Clippers and San Antonio Spurs all have the talent to win the NBA title. Actually it's a shame that they are all in the West as many experts think that the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers are the only real teams in the East that have a shot at winning the title.

Teams like Chicago and Brooklyn have the talent to give Miami and Indiana problems, especially in a best of seven series. It seems Chicago has embraced their "us against the world" mentality with great stride as Joakim Noah and the Bulls are playing great tough nosed basketball.

Besides Miami and Indiana, five of the next six teams are listed as favorites by Las Vegas sports books to win the NBA title from out of the Western Conference. The NBA playoffs get underway this Saturday with four games on the schedule including the defending champion Heat opening at home vs. Charlotte at 3:30 p.m. ET.
