According to an April 22, 2014, LAT report, it’s an Eastern Conference kind of evening in the Association, as there are three intraconference 2014 NBA playoff games on the slate for Tuesday night. Fortunately for NBA basketball fans around the globe, Examiner.com has the latest Las Vegas betting odds, as well as the best free NBA playoff picks and predictions for each matchup.
First up, tipping off at 7 p.m. EST (6 p.m. CST/5 p.m. MST/4 p.m. PST) from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind., the top-seeded (0-1) Indiana Pacers try and bounce back after dropping the opening game of its best-of-seven series against the No.8 team in the standings, the (1-0) Atlanta Hawks. Behind Jeff Teague’s 28-point outburst, ATL stunned Indy to the tune of 101-93 on Saturday night to take home-field advantage right off the bat.
According to NBA oddsmakers at ESPN.com, Frank Vogel’s team is expected to even this first-round series at a win apiece with a must-win tonight at home. Las Vegas’ latest point spreads list the Pacers at -7 and the Hawks at +7 in the ATS betting department, while the OVER/UNDER is set at a combined total of 186½ points.
The second game on the Tuesday, April 22, NBA playoffs 2014 slate tips off at 7:30 p.m. EST north of the border. The Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Quebec, will host Game 2 of a very intriguing series between the sixth-seeded (1-0) Brooklyn Nets and the third-seeded (0-1) Toronto Raptors.
After suggesting the Raptors were the weakest link in the East, Jason Kidd and the Nets went into enemy territory and backed up their claim by drawing first blood. Deron Williams and Joe Johnson led the way for the road team with 24 points apiece, as Brooklyn took Game 1 by a final of 94-87.
Much like in the first matchup of Tuesday night, Las Vegas’ NBA oddsmakers predict things will be knotted up before the series changes venues for the first time. It should come as no surprise that the Raptors [-5] come in favorites by two buckets over the visiting Nets [+5], while the OVER/UNDER tallies 190½ points on Canadian soil.
Finally, closing out a great Tuesday (April 22, 2014) night of NBA playoff basketball is a matchup between the fifth-seeded (1-0) Washington Wizards and the No.4 team in the conference, the (0-1) Chicago Bulls. Oddly enough, home-court advantage hasn’t mattered much in this series either, with the host team dropping the opener, 93-102.
NBA oddsmakers, also following in the same line of thinking as the previews two games, predict that the home-club will redeem itself this evening. Listed as -5½-point favorites, the Bulls will try and avoid going down 0-2 against a Wizards team that will enjoy a +5½ ATS cushion tonight and an OVER/UNDER total of 181½ points.
