2014 MTV Video Music Awards: 'PLL' star Lucy Hale to host pre-show

Lucy Hale, one of the stars of "Pretty Little Liars" is having a lot of success with her acting, music career and other projects. In addition to everything else she does, she will also be hosting the MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show, The Wrap reported on Friday.

On MTV's website, the announcement stated that Lucy Hale will be joining Video Music Awards nominees Charli XCX and Fifth Harmony. The "Pretty Little Liars" star will not be performing, but Charli XCX and Fifth Harmony will. Hale said in a statement to The Wrap that she is looking forward to meeting and speaking with some of her favorite artists.

Ally Brooke of Fifth Harmony said that they all grew up watching their favorite artists perform at the MTV Video Music Awards. Now they not only were nominated, but they also get to perform at the pre-show. Ally describes the opportunity as "phenomenal."

Charli XCX collaborated with Iggy Azalea on "Fancy." She, like so many others, are thrilled about performing at the upcoming event. She said,

"And it's so exciting to have a nomination not only for 'Boom Clap' but for other things with 'Fancy.' It's a girl power anthem and the video is next level."

Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Ariana Grande, Beyonce and Maroon 5 will be performing at the actual awards show. Taylor Swift will also be performing once again. Dave Sirulnick and Ryan Kroft are credited as the executive producers of the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show. Garrett English will be both executive producer and executive in charge.
