The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) have found a new home this year and it’s less than five miles from the Los Angeles International Airport so there should be no excuse why entertainers aren't at the show on time. The VMAs are being held at The Forum in Inglewood. According to the Los Angeles Times on Friday the annual show is the first award show event to be held at the rejuvenated arena since it opened.
If viewers are scratching their heads on why this sounds familiar it is because The Forum reopened their doors after a big $100-million makeover and big entertainers like Justin Timberlake are stopping by for a unique concert experience. With a fresh coat of paint, a new stage and a chance to show the world the venue is open for business, this is the first award show held at The Forum. Everyone is expecting to have a great time at the show as The Forum is casually reintroduced to the music community.
The Forum, which opened in 1967, has a rich history of music and entertainment in the Los Angeles area. It was a fixture in the community that offered many great shows. Perhaps it was technology or maybe it was because the location, but the Staples Center and other downtown venues started taking over the big events. Now that The Forum is back, people are excited to once again enjoy the location.
However, don’t expect the entertainers to stick around Inglewood and party after the show is over as the area just outside of the venue doesn't have too much to offer. Most of the bigger parties are being held in Hollywood and the West Los Angeles area. All the parties are expected to last into the early hours of the morning.
