Down East Spring Birding Festival
Where and When: May 23-26 in the Cobscook Bay area of Maine
With a diverse selection of habitats that have attracted nearly 300 species of birds, this area is a great hotspot for spring birding. The festival includes a range of field trips, and the boat trips to see Atlantic puffins are always favorites. Other activities include owl pellet dissections, canoe and kayak trips, local music, and medicinal and edible plant walks.
Huron Fringe Birding Festival
Where and When: May 23-25 and May 29-June 1 in Port Elgin, Ontario
There's so much to do at this spring festival, one weekend just isn't enough time! Guests will enjoy a variety of birding walks, as well as walks and tours focusing on wildflowers, butterflies, and insects. Evening astronomy, nature photography, mothing, bird banding, an evening banquet, and an introduction to citizen science projects are all scheduled.
