2014 Makeup Monologue

The year 2013 has ended and a new year has embarked upon us. Winter months can be tough on skin so be sure to use moisturizer and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. In 2014 make up trends have taken on vibrant shapes and colors for eyes and lips. Make up has also become more simple and natural for foundations and tints. This year, a flawless, glowing and natural complexion is a great canvas for color. This can be achieved by applying foundation or tinited moisturizer evenly all over the face to create this look. Do not skip concealer for under eye circles and imperfections. Bronzer is also important this season to create a healthy glow and sunkissed skin.

Lips are becoming more bold and bright. Orange, rose and scarlet hues in matte finishes are dominating the runways during Fashion Week. Blue and bronze shadows are illuminating lids. White shadow and white eyeliner is also trendy but be sure to apply the product lightly because it can look "cakey" if applied too heavy. The winged cat eye using traditional black liner is an oldie but goodie. New shapes and dimensions have reinvinted this look so be creative.

Minimal makeup pallets such as Bobbi Brown Nude Glow collection is great for the minimalisitc look this season and also great for daytime make ups. Nude colors and sheer eyeshadow is also a big trend in 2014. It is also important to make sure to use moisuurizer and a primer underneath make up so the product can appear smooth and the primer holds the makeup in place.

These trends will carry you through the new year and keep you looking fabulous!
