January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month. Armed with the slogan, "Humans were never meant to hibernate," Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month is a non-profit aimed at getting more people to ski and snowboard. They encourage to take lessons with certified instructors. Plus, there are great deals to be found on the Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month's webpage. Click on "Find Lessons" for more great deals in your area.

It is already halfway through the month of January! Have you tried skiing or snowboarding yet?

Last year over 153,000 people participated in Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month and the Bring a Friend Challenge (BAF). BAF is a season long program where you can win prizes if you do just that, bring a friend to the slopes. Over 94% of current skiers and riders were introduced by a friend or family member. What are you waiting for? Bring a friend to the slopes, however, it might be a good idea to have them take a lesson with a certified instructor. This way you will still be friends on the drive home!

As a member of the Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month Leadership Team, I am offering a tip of the day for each of the 31 days in January on Facebook.

Enjoy the slopes and stay safe out there!
