Kevin Harvick took the pole position for Saturday night’s IRWIN Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway with a lap of 131.362 mph (14.607 seconds), edging out Jeff Gordon, who starts on the outside pole after his lap of 131.290 mph (14.615 seconds) in the second round of knock-out qualifying.
Carl Edwards starts third after a lap of 131.209 mph (14.624 seconds), just ahead of his future teammate Kyle Busch at 131.057 mph (14.641 seconds). Joey Logano and Jimmie Johnson start on Row Three with an identical lap of 131.030 mph (14.644 seconds).
Kurt Busch (130.940 mph/14.654 seconds) and Greg Biffle (130.869 mph/14.662 seconds) make up the fourth row, while Brad Keselowski (130.504 mph/14.703 seconds) and Marcos Ambrose (130.460 mph/14.708 seconds) make up Row Five. Ryan Newman (130.168 mph/14.741 seconds) and Kasey Kahne (130.009 mph/14.759 seconds) round out the top 12.
