Joe Gibbs Racing driver Kyle Busch will start from the fourth position Saturday night at Bristol Motor Speedway, home of the IRWIN Tools Night Race. Busch, in the No. 18 Doublemint Toyota Camry, clocked in with a lap of 131.057 mph (14.641 seconds) in the second round of knock-out qualifying Friday, and starts on the second row next to his future teammate Carl Edwards, who qualified third with a lap of 131.209 mph (14.624 seconds). Kevin Harvick (131.362 mph/14.607 seconds) and Jeff Gordon (131.290 mph/14.615 seconds) make up the front row.
Denny Hamlin will start the No. 11 FedEx Ground Toyota from the 13th position with a lap of 129.982 mph (14.762 seconds), while Matt Kenseth starts 16th in the No. 20 Dollar General Toyota after a lap of 129.684 mph (14.796 seconds).
The IRWIN Tools Night Race goes green Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Busch qualified the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry on the pole for Friday night’s Food City 300 at Bristol with a speed of 125.142 mph (15.333 seconds), leading a JGR team with three cars in the top six. Elliott Sadler and Erik Jones make up Row Three, with Sadler’s No. 11 SportClips Toyota in fifth after a lap of 124.162 mph (15.454 seconds) and Jones in sixth spot in the No. 20 Resers Main Street Bistro Toyota after a lap of 124.058 mph (15.467 seconds) in his first visit to the 0.533-mile track.
Ryan Blaney is on the outside pole (124.339 mph/15.432 seconds), with Kyle Larson (124.267 mph/15.441 seconds) and Chase Elliott (124.202 mph/15.449 seconds) in Row Two.
The Nationwide Series Food City 300 goes green Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
