90 Miles R.A. Nicaragua Limited Edition Lancero - 7 X 38. Wrapper - Ecuadorian Habano, Binder - Nicaragua, Filler - Nicaragua. Full bodied.
Initial Taste - Cedary and spicy.
First third - Spice with chewy, rich leather, woodiness and some hints of raisin sweetness.
Second third - Spiciness continues but now the sweet raisin/fruitiness is more prevalent along with the thick leather taste and cedar notes. Very smooth and well balanced.
Last third - Spice, raisin fruitiness, rich leather and cedar wood notes. Long smooth finish of spicy leather and sweet notes.
Construction - Attractive brown wrapper with a slight oil sheen and a very nice looking pigtail cap. The foot of the cigar is covered with wrapper.
Burn - Sharp burn line producing a white colored ash that was both solid and would hold on until tapped off.
Draw - Nice draw allowing for plenty of smoke.
A fantastic smoke with a great flavor profile, plenty of complexity and excellent balance. The thick chewy leather was one of the richest tasting that I have tried in a long time.
Flor De Gonzalez has some of the best wrapper leaf in the business so it is no wonder that the smaller ring gauge would produce some rich, smooth flavors. MSRP for the lancero is $7.50. My new favorite lancero.
