2014 Imagination Unlimited Youth Art Contest at the Utica Public Library

The Utica Public Library is excited to announce the 2014 Imagination Unlimited Youth Art Contest!

Youth ages 5 to 18 are invited to enter the Imagination Unlimited Youth Art Contest. Entries submitted must be the artist’s own, original, work and may be in any art format. Entries can be submitted April 1-30, 2014.

When entering the contest, please include the Title of the piece of artwork, and the artist’s Name, Age, Address, Phone Number, School and Grade on the back of the piece. If you are an art teacher submitting work from your class, please also include your name and contact information on the back of the artwork.

Prizes will be awarded in five age categories, as well as for Honorable Mention, Overall Excellence, and the Imagination Unlimited Award, given to the piece of art deemed to be the most creative by the panel of judges, which will consist of Library staff, and members of the local arts community, including artists and professors of art.

The public has the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice award while the artwork is on display in the Library’s Gallery from May 2-30.

Winners will be notified by May 16 and will be honored at an Awards Reception in the Library's Gallery on Tuesday, May 27, at 6:00pm.

The Youth Services Department at Utica Public Library offers many services, such as storytimes, educational and entertainment programs, outreach, and computer access, as well as, numerous materials, including books, CDs, and DVDs, which enrich the lives of the youth population of the Utica area.
