The Verizon IndyCar Series heads just north of our border to Toronto, Ontario, Canada’s Exhibition Place for the 2014 Honda Indy Toronto, dubbed “2inT.O.,” this weekend, Friday through Sunday, July 18th through 20th. Joining the IndyCars in Toronto are the Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires, Cooper Tires USF2000, Acura Sports Car Challenge featuring the Pirelli World Challenge Series, the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship, the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge and the SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Trucks.

The 1.75-mile, 11-turn temporary street course will host the third double-header race weekend on this year’s Verizon IndyCar Series schedule. Scott Dixon swept both races last year in Toronto, but he’s still looking for his first win of 2014.

Ontario native James Hinchcliffe has never been to victory lane in the Honda Indy Toronto, but he’s been attending the race since he was just 18 months old. Hinchcliffe is coming off a three-win season in 2013, but like Dixon is still looking for his first win of 2014. He has a career-best finish of eighth at Toronto in last year’s first race.

Juan Pablo Montoya, who earned his first oval track open-wheel victory since 2000 at Pocono a couple weeks ago, now heads to Toronto for the first time since 2000. Montoya had good luck in qualifying for both of his Toronto starts (1999 – eighth and 2000 – fourth), but crashed out of both races.

Current points leader Helio Castroneves is looking to carry some momentum into this year’s Honda Indy Toronto from last year’s second race – he earned a career-best second-place finish in that race. Castroneves picked up his 2014 win in the second Detroit race in the double-header weekend in June.

Qualifying for the first race of the weekend takes place Saturday at 10 a.m. ET, followed by the race at 3:55 p.m. ET. Qualifying for Race No. 2 is Sunday at 10 a.m. ET, followed by the race at 3:55 p.m. ET. Keep up with the action at www.indycar.com.
