Automobile Magazine reported earlier today (Nov 5, 2013) that Honda has officially taken off the wraps on its newly refreshed 2014 Honda Civic Si Coupe at SEMA and it is nothing short of a breath of fresh air. Now with a bit more power thanks to a more free flowing exhaust and a more aggressively styled front and rear end, the 2014 Honda Civic Si Coupe is ready to take on the best that the sports compact car market has to offer.
According to Honda, the 2014 Honda Civic Coupe features a reworked front grill, hood, front fenders and headlights. In addition, Honda has a new crop of wheels as well as a sportier front and rear bumper.
Mind you, that’s just for the coupe. Now for the Civic Si, Honda will grace your Civic with an exclusive set of 18 inch wheels, front and rear diffusers as well as more power.
Honda has retuned the exhaust system to extract four more horsepower and torque. Final power numbers come in at 205 HP and 174 lbs-ft of torque. I’m sure the buyers will appreciate that bump in torque given the peaky nature of Honda’s K-series line of engines.
It is definitely fitting that Honda unveiled this new coupe at SEMA as pretty much they've taken what any ordinary tuner would do and put their own corporate flavor. Right out of the box, the 2014 Honda Civic Si Coupe is ready to turn heads right and left.
Honda is trying its darnedest to win back some of its fans that yearn for the days of the 6th generation Honda Civic Si (1999-2000) when the economy was stronger and their Si formula was down pat. This new redesign is sure to bring some of Honda sport compact faithful back to the flock.
