The 2014 Hollywood Fringe Festival is just around the corner. The Festival, which features an eclectic assortment of shows including one-person shows, dramas, comedies, musicals and cabaret acts, will run from June 12-29, with previews from June 5-10 and a fabulous Opening Night Party on June 11.
For those wanting to participate, here are some important dates:
February 1 - registration opens for participants.
February 2 - first Town Hall meeting - noon to 2 p.m. at the Hudson Theatres.
March 25 - first Workshop - 7-9 p.m. at Elephant Stages.
April 1 - registration closes for the printed guide.
April 6 - second Town Hall meeting - 2-4 p.m. at the Hudson Theatres.
April 15 - deadline to purchase ads in the printed guide.
May 1 - Tickets go on sale.
May 3 - second Workshop - 2-4 p.m. at Theatre Asylum.
May 11 - third Town Hall meeting - 2-4 p.m. at the Hudson Theatres.
If you want to get a jump on preparing for the Festival, I strongly suggest you attend the Audience Building Workshop taught by Cindy Marie Jenkins at Theatre Asylum on February 20 from 7-10 p.m. The cost of $50 (participant price is $40) is well worth what you will learn - I took the workshop last year and it made my 2013 Fringe experience even more incredible.
Although it does not look like I will be able to make the Festival this year after being part of it for the past four years, I will be there in spirit and will be supporting the Festival every way I can.
Don't miss your chance to be a part of this special annual event!
