If Taylor Swift decided the Grammys, singer Ed Sheeran would bring home the award for Best New Artist. According to Billboard.com on Jan. 24, Swift is really pulling for Sheeran, who has some pretty stiff competition in the category.
The English singer will be up against James Blake, Kacey Musgraves, Kendrick Lamar, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis at the 2014 Grammy Awards. Sheeran already made a splash by appearing on Taylor Swift’s fourth album, “Red”, and performing his single “The A Team” from his debut album at the 2013 Grammy Awards alongside Elton John. His debut alum also contains the hit “Lego House”. Swift knows much about Sheeran who has already become one of her favorite people.
“I want him to win everything he’s ever up for. He’s one of my favorite people on the planet. And he’s so talented and he’s worked so hard for it.”
Sheeran is set to release his sophomore album in 2014 and if its anything like his first, he will have future Grammy nominations. Swift feels his heartfelt acoustic songs and presence in live settings makes him even more appealing. She says:
“It was so amazing to watch him work and to watch him put together his new record, which is going to be great. Whether or not he wins Best New Artist, I think people are going to be so blown away by what comes next from him.
