The 36-hole facility is located near Malone, NY, southeast of Cornwall and about 150 klicks from Ottawa. It opens April 18.

Derek Sprague, the course’s general manager and PGA director of golf, says Canadian men and women players often dot the East Course and West Course because of the affordable package partnerships Malone Golf Club has developed with several motels, hotels and bed and breakfasts.

The packages run in price from $199 to $314, depending on peak and off-peak tee times. They include two-nights accommodations and two days of unlimited golf with a power cart for the first round. A second round cart rental is mandatory and priced at $18 per player.

Guaranteed tee times can be placed more than seven days in advance, while non-package players are able to book only seven days in advance.

A huge bonus for Canadian golfers is Canuck bucks are accepted at par.

Adding to the stress-free trips are several convenient and complementary services. Club storage on both days, a bag tag and a short game clinic led by PGA professionals are always in the mix.

The package prices are per person, per stay, double occupancy and a 14-day cancellation period is in effect.

Players are asked to contact the accommodation properties when they book packages.
