2014 Golden Globes: Possible winners and more

The 2014 Golden Globes are here getting the award season started in a brand new year. The fashion, the statues, the speeches and powerhouse comediennes’ Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hosting the show again. The audience – and media coverage alike – embraces the Golden Globes every year because it is the most unscripted and fun show to watch on television.

Of course, it is all about who will win the renowned statute and The Hollywood Foreign Press excels at presenting two categories in the top selection in the film category for drama and comedy or musical. Thus, there are more choices and everyone is a winner. Predicting this year’s winner is not an easy task, and for the most part is a guessing game (a well-educated guessing game if you have watched every film).

Here are my very-last-minute predictions to tonight’s Golden Globes:

Best Motion Picture, Drama -- “Gravity”
Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama – Sandra Bullock
Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama – Tom Hanks
Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy – “American Hustle”
Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy – Amy Adams (“American Hustle”)
Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy – Bruce Dern (“Nebraska”)

Now for the categories that most people tend not to pay close attention too:

Best Animated Feature Film – “Despicable Me 2”
Best Foreign Language – “The Hunt”
Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture – Julia Roberts (“August: Ossage County”)
Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture – Michael Fassbender (“12 Years a Slave”)
Best Director – Alfonso Cuaron (“Gravity”)
Best Screenplay – Spike Jonze (“Her”)
