2014 Golden Globe nominations: ‘12 Years a Slave,’ ‘American Hustle’ score 7

Another set of award nominations for film and television were announced on Thursday morning by Zoe Saldana, Olivia Wilde and Aziz Ansari. The 71st Golden Globes announcement presentation was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with a live telecast on NBC’s “Today” show, in addition to live streams at GoldenGlobes.com and HFPA.com. Critic awards and guild nominations are an important gauge for potential Oscar choices. The Golden Globe nominations are the strongest precursor on the road to the Academy Awards.

12 Years a Slave” and “American Hustle” received the most nominations in films with seven each, including Best Motion Picture -- Drama (“12 Years a Slave”) and Musical or Comedy (“American Hustle”). “Breaking Bad,” “Downton Abbey,” and “Brooklyn 99” came up on top for the television categories. The hilarious comedy duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host once again the Golden Globes live on Sunday, January 12, 2014 on NBC. Here is a full list of all nominees featured below:
