Joe Gibbs Racing driver Sam Hornish Jr. finally took home the checkered flag from Iowa Speedway Sunday, winning the Get To Know Newton 250 in the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry. Hornish Jr. had finished the previous three Nationwide Series races at Iowa in third, fourth and second, all for Team Penske.

Hornish Jr., who qualified second for the race, led four times for a race-high 167 laps to earn his third career Nationwide Series victory over Ryan Blaney, Regan Smith and Chase Elliott. Hornish Jr.’s JGR teammates Elliott Sadler and Michael McDowell finished fifth and seventh, respectively.

Sadler, in the No. 11 OneMain Financial Toyota, qualified eight for the race, while McDowell, in the No. 20 Pizza Ranch Toyota, qualified third and led three laps.

Matt Kenseth led the JGR teams at Charlotte Motor Speedway Saturday night, finishing third in the Sprint All-Star Race in the No. 20 Home Depot/Husky Tools Toyota Camry. Denny Hamlin, in the No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota, finished ninth, while Kyle Busch, who sat on the outside pole for the race in the No. 18 M&Ms Toyota, finished 21st after a wreck in the second segment.

Jamie McMurray won the non-points race, ahead of Kevin Harvick. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and pole sitter Carl Edwards rounded out the top five in Charlotte.
