For the first time on US soil, a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST has ran the quarter mile. Setting the standard for the vehicle, drive and Fiesta Movement agent "Michael Berenis" was the very first driver to run the imported hatch on a drag strip.
Taking place at Orlando Speedworld in Orlando, FL, the quarter mile pass set the following information:
Official 2014 Ford Fiesta ST quarter mile time:
- (10:08 AM 8/SEP/2013 *95F 85% humidity @ sea-level)
- R/T: .680
- 60': 2.359
- 330: 6.609
- 1/8: 10.407 (65.83 mph)
- 1/4: 16.042 (86.63 mph)
Thanks to a powerful 1.6 liter inline four cylinder engine running 21 pounds of boost at 10.5:1 compression, it is easy to see that this 2,500 lb. hatch is going to be the next big tune platform. Fans of Euro-spec hatchbacks have been begging Ford to bring the Fiesta ST to the United States for years, and finally it has happened.
What will the future hold for the Fiesta ST? Setting record pre-order sales and tantalizing aftermarket performance companies everywhere, it would appear that Ford is moving on in the Honda and VW dominated tuner territory. In the next ten years, mark my word; this will be the most popular turbo hatch on the road.
