The 2014 Florida Derby live stream and TV coverage will take place today from Gulfstream Park as the hype for the 2014 Kentucky Derby begins to grow. The Florida Derby, along with the Louisiana Derby are two of the upcoming key races that will help shape the field of this May's Kentucky Derby. Race fans won't want to miss out on these two live streaming horse races as the action for a run towards a Triple Crown begins!

According to an USA Today report on March 28, two horses that should be a shoe-in for the upcoming annual "Run for the Roses" are Florida Derby favorite Cairo Prince and the Louisiana Derby favorite Intense Holiday.

Cairo Prince's trainer, Kiaran McLaughlin would love nothing more than to duplicate what Shug McGaughey did last year by winning the Florida Derby and Kentucky Derby with Orb, especially since McLaughlin grew up in Kentucky.

"I grew up 73 miles from Churchill Downs … and to end up back 73 miles again from home with a possible chance to win, it would be priceless," McLaughlin said.

Cairo Prince and Intense Holiday both have the talent and ability to be a Triple Crown contender, but as horse racing fans know all too well, winning the Triple Crown of horse racing (meaning the horse has to win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and the Belmont Stakes) is one of the hardest titles to pull off in all of sports.

The last Triple Crown winner was Affirmed in 1978.

Last year Orb won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness but like several others before him he fell short in the Belmont Stakes.

Horse racing fans can catch all the Florida Derby action on NBCSN nationally or streaming live online through
