Third-term TN State Senator Jim Tracy (R-Shelbyville) officially announces his US 4th Congressional District candidacy in Murfreesboro today, January 2 @ 11am. Sen. Tracy is the first official candidate for the seat. Several more are in the wings. Although the current incumbent, Dr. Scott Desjarlais, has indicated that he will run again for the seat, a seat that he won by double digits in 2012, speculation still remains whether he will challenge moderate US Senator Lamar Alexander or return to his medical practice, free from the carnivorous life of politics.
