The 4th annual echo Art Fair will take place Saturday and Sunday, September 6th and 7th at the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library’s Central Library in downtown Buffalo. The juried fine art exposition continues its mission of providing a platform for independent artists and galleries to present their work to a jury of contemporary art experts, and to showcase and sell their work.
In 2013, the echo Art Fair featured more than 110 artists and galleries from WNY, the U.S. and Canada, and drew large crowds, resulting in the best year yet for art sales.
“We are extremely excited about holding echo Art Fair at the downtown Central Library again this year, as it proved to be an incredible venue for the fair last year—from the 25,000 foot floor-to-ceiling window-lined exhibition space, to the multiple floors that accommodated site-specific installations, to the central downtown location,” said echo Art Fair founder E. Frits Abell.
"We are excited to host echo Art Fair again this year,” said Mary Jean Jakubowski, Director of the Public Library System. “Libraries are about community, and the fair brings a wide variety of art and artists from WNY—and beyond—directly to the community in a single setting. Libraries and art go hand in hand; as such, art is an important component of literacy and thus hosting such an event supports our mission: connecting our diverse community with library resources that enrich, enlighten and entertain.”
A portion of the revenues from the 2014 echo Art Fair will be donated to the Library in support of its cultural outreach.
echo Art Fair connects experienced collectors and first-time buyers with established and emerging local, regional, and international artists in a centralized, creative environment, showcasing a broad array of fine art disciplines, including painting, photography, sculpture, prints, works on paper, video and mixed media. Artists and galleries are invited to submit their works for consideration starting Monday, March 3rd, 2014. Submission guidelines and additional details regarding the event, including sponsorship opportunities, are available at www.echoartfair.com.
