Kyle Busch Motorsports owner/driver Kyle Busch and sophomore driver Darrell Wallace Jr. tested at Daytona International Speedway in their Toyota Tundras on Monday, January 13th as part of NASCAR’s Preseason Thunder testing sessions for the Camping World Truck Series.
Wallace Jr., spending a second season in the No. 54 Tundra for KBM, was fifth-quick in Monday morning testing, completing 18 laps with a top speed of 177.901 mph (50.59 seconds); he was also fifth in afternoon testing on Monday, with a fast lap of 190.577 mph (47.225 seconds) after 64 laps of testing.
Busch, who will split seat time in the No. 51 Tundra with 17-year-old Erik Jones in 2014, was ninth-fastest in Monday morning testing, with a fast lap of 176.967 mph (50.857 seconds) in 15 laps on track; he fell back to 12th-quick in the afternoon session, completing 61 laps with a top speed of 187.504 mph (47.999 seconds).
