The 2014 Dodge Dart Rallye takes the middle of the line Dart SXT model – adds the 6-speed automatic transmission, a 8.4-inch Uconnect Touch Screen Group plus 17-inch Hyper Black Wheels – and then wraps it all in the Rallye Appearance Package to deliver a terrific value compact sedan for just $22,025 including delivery. In summary – looks good, drives good, rides good and does not break the bank.
For 2014, Dodge restructured the lineup and added value to the SXT model, making the 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with MultiAir technology standard - delivering 184 horsepower and 171 lb.-ft. of torque for the SXT. Mated to the optional 6-speed Powertech Automatic Transmission with AutoStick, this Dart Ralleye delivers fuel economy of 23/35 mpg City/Highway with an expected average of 27 mpg.
New standard features on the 2014 SXT (before becoming a Rallye) includes a black crosshair grille, dark-tinted headlamps, LED racetrack tail lamps, active grille shutters, underbody aerodynamic kit, automatic headlamps, speed control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, Uconnect Bluetooth with Voice Command and new premium cloth seats.
Other standard features on the 2014 SXT include: body-color door handles and mirrors, air conditioning with micron filter, Uconnect 200 AM/FM/CD/MP3 radio with audio input jack for mobile devices, speed-sensitive power door locks, power mirrors, remote keyless entry, front center console with fore and aft sliding armrest, 60/40 split folding rear seat with armrest with storage and cup holders and trunk pass-through, six speakers, security alarm, overhead console with sunglasses holder, sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, 12-volt auxiliary power outlet in front console, front and rear floor mats and 600-amp maintenance-free battery.
Our test 2014 Dodge Dart Rallye Appearance Package model also included a touring suspension, rear stabilizer bar, 17-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels with all-season tires, black surround around the crosshair grille, integrated dual exhaust with bright tips, projector fog lamps, accent stripes on the premium cloth seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls and leather-wrapped shift knob (automatic transmission), front and rear mats plus the Rallye badge.
The Uconnect system was also upgraded to what they call the Uconnect Touchscreen Group which added the class-exclusive 8.4-inch Uconnect 8.4 multimedia center, class-exclusive floating island bezel, remote USB port, iPod Control, remote CD player and ParkView rear backup camera and glove box lamp. The SiriusXM Satellite Radio System was also included on our test car.
This 2014 Dodge Dart Rallye, as tested, is a very good drive with the 2.4L Tigershark power train putting out plenty of power for spirited recreational as well as every day driving - with good fuel economy. The styling is clean and fluid with all of the elements you want or need for esthetic enjoyment without distractions. The cabin is roomy and comfortable both front and rear with a decent trunk for cargo or luggage. We would rate the 2014 Dart Rallye as being one to seriously consider if you are in the market for a sporty yet efficient and economical compact sedan.

The recognition is based on an analysis of wide-ranging information collected and analyzed by The Car Book and the Center for Auto Safety and considers crash test results, safety features, rollover rating, preventative maintenance schedules, repair costs, warranty coverage, fuel economy, complaint data and insurance costs. The 2014 Dodge Dart achieved an overall score of “9.” The highest possible score is “10.”
The 2014 Dart recently has also been named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Dart also boasts a 5-star rating – the highest possible assessment – in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s crash-testing program.
Additionally, the Dodge Dart tops the compact car segment in total quality, according to Strategic Vision Total Quality Index earning it the Most Loved Vehicle in America title for the compact segment.
