A recent crash between a 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray test vehicle and a Lincoln Town Car occurred in the suburban Metro Detroit area just last week. GM engineers are taking a close look at the test vehicle and evaluating data taken from the crash. The C7 Corvette will be taken back and evaluated by the safety team in Milford to determine if the vehicle will be repairable or not.
During the time of the crash the 2014 Corvette Stingray was being driven by an unnamed GM employee and was struck directly in the passenger side door by the Lincoln Town Car.
There was no official report of any serious injuries during the crash. However, GM officials have stated that this will provide an opportunity to evaluate how the C7 Corvette handled this real world scenario.
