2014 Corvette Stingray convertible to be unveiled

The Stingray and its legendary curves are back.

Now it’s set to go topless.

After unveiling the 2014 Corvette at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on Jan 13, Chevrolet is set to reveal the drop-top version at the Geneva International Motor Show, starting March 5th, 2013 (http://www.salon-auto.ch/en/).

The C7 is not available for sale until fall. Perhaps Chevy hopes to build further on the excitement the newest Vette has already generated. And, is the ‘vert going to be ready for sale along the same time-frame as the coupe?

The ’14 Stingray is a world-class sports car, one that Chevy claims to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in under 4 seconds and corner with over 1 G. It is longer, lower, and wider than ever. (Official performance stats are yet to be posted, as road tests and car magazine thrashings are pending).

Lopping off the lid won’t change those performance stats much, if any. But its Stingray curves may be further accentuated.

We’ll have to wait to see the top go down. At least, until the curtain falls.
