2014 CLASS AAAA STATE GIRLS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL SCHEDULE
GAMES PLAYED TUESDAY, MARCH 18 AT TARGET CENTER, MINNEAPOLIS
10:00: St. Paul Central vs. Eastview (Seed 1)
12:00: Anoka (Seed 5) vs, Eden Prairie (Seed 4)
2:00: Lakeville North vs. Centennial (Seed 2)

Examining the field: There was plenty of outstanding basketball this season in the South Suburban Conference as three of the eight teams are from that league. The top seeded Eastview Lightning opens the day's festivities against the St. Paul Central Minutemen. The Lightning have an outstanding perimeter offense, anchored by junior Madison Guebert. Eastview has been topping the rankings most of the season and there could be a championship trophy headed to Apple Valley.
In the second game, the fifth seeded Anoka Tornadoes face the fourth seeded Eden Prairie Eagles. The Eagles were the fourth seed in a tough Section 6 but can they prove that they can beat an outstanding Anoka team? It should be interesting.
Next up is the Lakeville North Panthers and the second seeded Centennial Cougars. What's this? Another Lakeville North team in a state tournament. Just a few days after JP Macura led the boys to the AAAA crown it's the girls turn. DSid the boys title run get the girls team psyched? Find out Tuesday.
Wrapping up the AAAA quarterfinals is the St. Michael Albertville Knights and the third seeded Bloomington Kennedy Eagles. The Eagles have one of the state's top players in Kenisha Bell. The Knights have been moving up the class ladder due to increasing enrollment, first in AA, then AAA and for the last few years in AAAA. It could be a big test for STMA.
