GAMES PLAYED WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12 AT WILLIAMS ARENA, MINNEAPOLIS

10:00: St. Paul Central vs. DeLaSalle (Seed 1)

12:00: Marshall (Seed 5) vs. Orono (Seed 4)

2:00: Alexandria vs. Austin (Seed 2)

Examining the field: Good news for Islanders fans. Reid Travis is healthy and leading DeLaSalle toward a third straight championship. But there's more to the Islanders than the Stanford bound Travis. There's also Jamar Johnson, Sacar Amin and James Lawson. They go up against the talented Minutemen who got off to a 14-0 start. Can DeLaSalle do it again?

In the second game, the Marshall Tigers hope to upgrade their medals after finishing third in last year's state tournament. They go up against the Orono Spartans, who return to state after winning the 2011 AAA state title. They have a coach who knows how to win at this level in Barry Wohler. He won as a player and also a coach.

The Alexandria Cardinals and Austin Packers play the third quarterfinal game It will be a toughie for the Cards as they go up against last year's AAA runner up. Austin is making it's 29th trip to state and looking for it's first title since the Ove Berven Era, 1958. Can the Packers bring back a trophy to Spamtown?

The final quarterfinal game pits the Cloquet Lumberjacks and the second seeded Holy Family Catholic Fire. The Lumberjacks are in the tournament for the first time since 2000 and led by Adam Laine, averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. They will have a tough task ahead against a tall Fire tea, led by Joe Hanel and Justin Dahl. They're on a quest to win their first state title since 2007.
