2014 Boston Marathon live stream, TV coverage, odds favor Linden, Desisa, Jeptoo

The 2014 Boston Marathon live stream and TV coverage is scheduled to take place Monday, April 21. This year's marathon is expected to possibly see the largest field of runners in the race's history. It will also have special meaning for all the residents of Boston and the entire state of Massachusetts as runners will take to the pavement for the first time after last year's horrific bombings. The 2014 Boston Marathon live stream may be one of the most watched sporting events of the day.

According to a Reuters report on April 20, an estimated 36,000 people will line up when the Boston Marathon kicks off Monday morning. If those numbers are accurate, it will be the second-largest field in the race's 118-year history. The top runners in this year's marathon will include the 2013 winners. Unfortunately, with the events that unfolded in 2013 not many people remember that Ethiopia's Lelisa Desisa finished first for the Men and Kenya's Rita Jeptoo was the first woman to cross the finish line.

Jeptoo is a favorite to repeat as the ladies champion, something that hasn't been done since Catherine Ndereba won back to back marathons in 2004 and 2005. It has been a long time since an American crossed the finish line first in the Boston Marathon, but maybe this year will be different.

The top runners representing the US include Ryan Hall for the men and Desiree Linden for the women. Desiree Davila (as she was known back in 2011 before she married) a Michigan native, knows all too well what it feels like to come close to winning the Boston Marathon.

Davila missed winning the marathon by two seconds back in 2011. Hopefully this year sporting her new name, Linden can make up those two seconds and become the first American female since 1985 when Lisa Larsen Weidenbach (a fellow Michigander) won the Boston Marathon.
