2014 BMW M3 renderings leak ahead of the 2013 Geneva Motor Show (Photos)

GT Spirit reported that a few official photos of the 2014 BMW M3 leaked to editor of Car Magazine, Tim Pollard earlier today (Feb. 27,2013). These photos hit the public ahead of BMW’s official release of the 2014 BMW M3, which will take place at the Geneva Motor Show later in March. (March 7-14 to be exact).

The BMW M3 is crucial to the health of the M division, making up the bulk of its sales. What we do know is that alongside the BMW M3, there will also be an M4. How that will affect overall sales has yet to be determined, but BMW is shooting for a more high end expensive clientele with the M4.

The straight six will be back for the 2014 BMW M3. It’s a range of modular motors, sharing a common cylinder capacity of the optimum 500cc. In three-cylinder guise, it’s therefore the 1.5 you’ll spot in the i8 range-extender supercar or next-gen Mini; add a cylinder and it’s the future 2.0-liter four-pot executive workhorse. Sling on two more and you get the M3’s new 3.0-liter six. A pair of turbochargers will raise total power output to 444 HP. Fans of the M3 will rejoice at the fact that a 6 speed manual will be available, despite the fact that most customers will choose the dual clutch transmission option.

A lean diet of carbon fiber and aluminium on the roof and door panels sees the 2014 BMW M3 dipping below 3300 total pounds ( or around 1500kg)

Expect a starting price of around $60,000.
