"The Bachelor" hometown dates air on Feb. 24, 2014, with Juan Pablo traveling to across the country to meet the families of his final four contestants, Andi Dorfman, Clare Crawley, Nikki Ferrell and Renee Oteri.
Get ready for some ugly crying because Juan Pablo will be sending one woman home at the rose ceremony when the girls return to Miami after hometowns.
Before Juan Pablo breaks another heart, he will have to endure what host Chris Harrison states will be hometowns that will not be “all-smiles.”
Harrison states in his Entertainment Weekly blog that the “pivotal hometown dates” will have a surprising twist for fans and the four girls’ families will not all be thrilled with Juan Pablo.
Juan Pablo will meet Andi Dorfman in Atlanta, but it won’t be all love and roses when he meets her father. The previews show that Dorfman’s father doesn’t approve of their relationship, but that was more than likely the producers way of getting her to sign a contract to be their next leading lady. After all, it’s rumored that she is the next “Bachelorette” -- why stick around a very undecided “Bachelor” when she can have 20 men of her own to pick from?
Clare Crawley will meet Juan Pablo in her hometown of Sacramento, CA. Expect an emotional conversation about Crawley’s late father and a trip to the salon where she will give Juan Pablo a haircut. It’s all butterflies and unicorns until they meet up with Clare’s sisters and her mother. Suffice to say that Juan Pablo isn’t her family’s first pick when it comes to a husband-to-be.
Juan Pablo meets Renee Oteri in Sarasota, FL for a hometown date that Reality Steve reports will include Oteri’s 8-year-old son. After attending a Little League game, Renee introduces Juan Pablo to her parents. If they have their heads in the clouds like their daughter, all should go well for “The Bachelor” on this date, but he may not be quite as excited about joining Renee’s family as she is.
Nikki Ferrell, this season’s rumored winner, joins Juan Pablo in Kansas City for a date that includes riding a mechanical bull and meeting with her parents. Apparently Juan Pablo gets along far better with Nikki’s folks than he did with Andi and Clare’s families. Perhaps he promised her family that would date her for at least a month after the season finale, the very least he could do since Reality Steve states that he does not offer her a ring at the final rose ceremony.
Once the hometown dates are over, all four ladies head to Miami to find out if they will proceed on to the hot and steamy overnight dates in St. Lucia.
Renee Oteri is eliminated at the rose ceremony, a clear indication that Juan Pablo is not interested in an instant family with someone else’s child, just his own.
