With the 2013 WWE Summer Slam pay per view in the books, here are my thoughts on the show:
-Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk was the match of the night. The only thing I didn’t like was Paul Heyman interfering more than once. Lesnar is a beast and shouldn’t need his manager to interfere or break up a count more than once.
-I thought both World Title matches were very good as well. Christian looked strong in losing to Alberto Del Rio. Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena was good as well (not as good as the Del Rio vs. Christian in my eyes) with the ending coming out of nowhere (Bryan winning with a knee to the face). As for Randy Orton cashing in the Money in the Bank contract with an assist from Triple H, I’m ok with it but need to see where the storyline goes from here (could we see an Evolution reunion, minus Batista).
As for the rest of the card, Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family for that matter have established themselves by going over Kane, Damien Sandow vs. Cody Rhodes was ok, the mixed tag bout (Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn vs. AJ and Big E Langston) felt a bit rushed but was fine and the Natalya vs. Brie match served its purpose in terms of keeping the ‘Total Divas’ momentum going.
All in the all, I thought the show good and would give the show 7.5 out of 10.
