2013 WWE Night of Champions predictions and preview

September 13, 2013

In just two days, WWE presents the 2013 Night of Champions pay per view; live from the Joe Louis Arena here in Detroit. Only five matches have been announced as well as a bout for the Kick-off show. United States Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler was mentioned a few weeks ago during a Smackdown taping but was never officially announced. However, with the lack of announced matches, I expect this match to happen during the PPV. Here is the scheduled card according to WWE.com, along with my predictions:

Winning team gets a Tag Team Championship match on the pay per view (Kick-off show) Titus O’Neil and Darren Young vs. Tensai and Brodus Clay vs. Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal vs. Jimmy and Jey Uso vs. Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger

I like O’Neil and Young to pick up the win here and gain the title shot.

Fatal Four Way for the Divas Championship: AJ Lee © vs. Naomi vs. Brie Bella vs. Natalya

I don’t see AJ dropping the title so she retains with a little outside interference from Layla

Tag Team Championship: Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns © vs. Winner of Kick-off show

The Shield retains regardless of who they face in my opinion.

Elimination Handicap 2 on 1 match: CM Punk vs. Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman

Punk eliminates Axel and as he’s about to get his hands on Heyman, I expect a swerve where Heyman gets away yet again. Best case scenario, Brock Lesnar shows up and saves Heyman

World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto Del Rio © vs. Rob Van Dam

Most people expect Del Rio to retain here but I’m going with RVD to win the gold in his home state.

WWE Championship: Randy Orton © vs. Daniel Bryan

With the way this storyline has been going, it’s too early for Bryan to win the title. Orton retains with some outside help (Triple H and/or The Shield).
