Odds for winning the 2013 World Series have been published for all 30 MLB teams, and with spring training kicking off this past weekend now is a good time to look and see where odds-makers put each team's chances of winning it all this season.
Sitting in the top spot is not a powerhouse like the Yankees, Red Sox, or Cardinals, but rather the Toronto Blue Jays. At 8-1, they are being given the best odds based on a slew of off-season acquisitions (Mark Buerhle, Jose Reyes, Melky Cabrera, Jose Bautista, R. A. Dickey) that could finally shoot them past their better-known AL East division rivals in New York and Boston.
The Washington Nationals possess the best odds of any National League team at 9-1 after winning the NL East last year. Last year's champs, the Giants, follow right behind at 10-1.
Rounding out the top five are the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Detroit Tigers, both possessing 11-1 odds.
