2012 was a rough year to stomach if you are a person whose interior disposition seeks peace, justice, and joy in relationship with the Son of God. Christmas day, just a few days past, points toward a 2013 with the possibility of birthing Jesus in ourselves, renewing the landscape of, not only our Catholic Church, but the American nation as well. But one obstacle remains...
For the birth of Eve still lives, in the seed of the insidious devil's lies, in the hearts, minds, and actions of so very many American Cain's! And all too many Cain's are baptized Catholics!

And Eve continues to birth Cain as Americans have bought into the devilish lies of secularism and relativism and materialism; and Cain is angry and envious as hell! 2012 has witnessed to Cain in Colorado, and in Connecticut, as young men, delirious with hatred, drunk on violent images, became hell bent on killing even little children. 2012 has witnessed to Cain as a Ft Hood Islamist, killing in the name of his god; as a professional football player killing his wife and daughter, and himself, in Kansas City; as a gang of Cain's, armed by a bumbling American government, in a 'fast and furious' killing of an American border patrol agent; as a horde of terrorists killing four American's in Benghazi; as a perpetrator of over 500 homicides in Chicago alone...

What's more disturbing is Eve's conception of the devil's seed in the American Catholic. Far too many Cain's are alive and professing Catholicism as their faith! True Catholicism, isn't to blame; rather, pseudo-Catholic Progressive-Americanism is the philosophy of the 2012 Cain! And this philosophy justifies the election of a Pro-Choice, Pro-Socialist, Pro-Entitlement, Pro-Class warfare President. The pseudo Catholic Cain sees nothing wrong with abortion on demand, euthanasia when convenient, Socialism and entitlement over earning a buck the old fashioned way--while remaining charitable, and embryonic destruction instead of stem cell research without murder, to name but a few of his, or her (mortal) sins.
And, if it is possible, what is more disturbing is that more than a few Catholic religious (nuns, sisters, brothers, etc.) and Catholic clergy (priests, bishops, deacons) have endorsed Cain from the pulpit, from within 'diocesan pastoral ministry schools,' from rogue 'religious' literature, from the 'seat of authority' on television talk shows and news programs, and from renegade pseudo-catechetical materials.

American Catholic Cain is the baby of American Catholicism run amok!
Yet, 2013 offers American Catholics a chance at redemption. Certainly, with Cain's coming HHS proving grounds, there will be opportunity to witness to Catholicism through the crucible of persecution. And if Abel's blood is spilled once again, Tertullian will prove a prophet once more. For he once said, 'The blood of martyrs is seed!'

And martyrdom, even un-bloody martyrdom in accepting the consequences (joyfully, faithfully, like Mary at the foot of the Cross) of the coming American-Cain-persecution, brings forth the opportunity of giving birth to the renewing Spirit of the Love of Jesus Christ, in the willing sacrifice of Abel, and the loving obedience of Mary, in the Catholic disciple of Christ, our Savior and Creator.
