The Heart of Iowa Wine Trail will hold its 5th Annual Tropical Winefest on Friday, February 1. The event will be held at the Scottish Rite Temple (519 Park Street) in Downtown Des Moines from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tickets for the event are $30 per person, and they may be purchased online through MidwesTix. They will also be available at the door for $35. Attendees must be at least 21 years of age.
Tropical Winefest allows wine lovers to taste wines from 14 different Iowa wineries. The wines being sampled at the event are all available for purchase. All those attending the event will receive a commemorative wine glass. The event will also feature food from a number of Central Iowa's top restaurants and specialty food providers, as well as a contest for the best tropical outfit and a number of prize giveaways.
This year's Tropical Winefest will feature wines from Dale Valley Vineyard, Eagle City Winery, Fox Ridge Winery, Grape Escape, Jasper Winery, John Ernest Vineyard and Winery, La Vida Loca Winery, Penoach Winery, Prairie Moon Winery, Rosey Acres Winery, Snus Hill Winery, Summerset Winery, Tassel Ridge Winery, and Two Saints Winery. The event will also feature food from Django, Chocolaterie Stam, Tally's, Frisian Farms, Maytag Dairy Farms, Dos Rios Cantina & Tequila Lounge, Luna Bistro, Hickory Park, Tasteful Dinners, Chisme, and Golden Dozen Cupcakes.
