2013 track profile: Sonoma Raceway

Located in Sonoma Valley, California, Sonoma Raceway is a 2.52-mile, 12-turn road course that has alo gone by the names Sears Point Raceway and Infineon Raceway. It has a permanent seating capacity of 47,000, but temporary structures and hillside seating bring raceday capacity to over 100,000. The site is also home to a quarter-mile dragstrip.

Sonoma Raceway hosts NASCAR, the IZOD IndyCar Series and the NHRA. Built and opened in 1968, the road course has also hosted the SCCA, USAC, AMA Superbikes, and the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series.

The major series events on the 2013 schedule include: the Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival (historic and vintage cars), June 2nd and 3rdMay 18th and 19th; the Toyota/Save Mart 350, featuring the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the K&N Pro Series West, June 21st through 23rd; the NHRA Sonoma Nationals, July 26th through 28th; the GoPro Indy Grand Prix of Sonoma, featuring the IZOD IndyCar Series, the SCCA World Challenge and the Formula Car Challenge, August 23rd through 25th; and the FIA World Touring Car Championships, September 7th and 8th.
