Road Atlanta, a 2.54-mile, 12-turn road course located in Braselton, Georgia, opened in 1970, and has been hosting world-class racing events ever since. In 2013, the track will host the SCCA, the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and Petit Le Mans, among others; it will also see the return of NASCAR, as the K&N Pro Series East competes at the track for the first time.
Owned by Panoz Motor Sports Group, Road Atlanta was completed in only six months after organizers of a cancelled Can-Am race chose the venue as a replacement. Set on 750 acres in Hall County, the track has also hosted Trans-Am, Formula 5000 and IMSA Camel GT racing.
Among the major events on the 2013 schedule at Road Atlanta are the SCCA Double Nationals, March 15th through 17th; the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and the Continental Tire Challenge Series, April 19th and 20th; the Formula Drift Series, May 10th and 11th; and the Petit Le Mans Series with the K&N Pro Series East, October 16th through 19th. Tickets for many of these events are now on sale at www.roadatlanta.com – and as always at Road Atlanta, kids 12 and under are free at all spectator events.
